**Part of everyday life, chemistry is vital for tackling the world’s most urgent problems - from green technologies to developing new treatments to keep us healthy.** This accredited, four-year degree includes a 9-12 month placement overseas during year three, giving you the opportunity to broaden your horizons working in a different culture and develop your professional skills. Designed to give you a solid grounding in the fundamentals of chemistry with an emphasis on research, the first two years of the course will focus on developing your understanding of how chemistry shapes our world. During the third and fourth years, there is a greater emphasis on analysis, synthesis and problem-solving. In the fourth and final year, you’ll undertake an extended research project, based within one of our academic research groups. You will also gain vital, practical experience in the lab, enhancing your research, mathematical and computational skills. You will need to pass the science practical element of the A-level if this is part of your programme of study. | T Level | Acceptance of T Levels for this programme will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the Academic School.
