Our Philosophy, Politics and Economics BA combines disciplines equips you with the skills to lead change in fields such as public policy, economics and international relations.** Build the tools to understand, evaluate and lead change in the social and political world. In our Philosophy, Politics and Economics BA (PPE), you’ll study three key disciplines at the heart of the world’s contemporary global challenges and learn about the political structures and economic forces that shape societies. You’ll discover theories, models, concepts and historical contexts that inform leaders’ decisions and explore the dynamics between money, power and politics to understand what makes the world go round. At the heart of your degree, you’ll study core modules covering the fundamentals of each of the three disciplines, alongside interdisciplinary modules designed exclusively for PPE students. You’ll master core concepts in philosophy, politics and economics and build the critical thinking skills to break down complex issues and answer questions such as: * Who is responsible for addressing climate change? And how can economic policy and international institutions address this challenge? * What (if anything) is wrong with economic inequality? How do economic structures and political policies affect the gap between rich and poor? * What is the value of democracy, and how can contemporary societies tackle the challenges of online misinformation and authoritarianism? By the end of your degree, you’ll be equipped with the analytical and strategic reasoning skills needed to develop and assess public policy, critically evaluate social structures, and lead change in today’s world.
