How do we design and build the future of engineering? Our BEng Mechanical Engineering with Manufacturing gives you the skills to create smarter, faster, and more sustainable products. You'll explore advanced manufacturing, sustainable engineering, and cutting-edge industry technologies through hands-on learning and real-world projects. In the first two years, you'll build a strong foundation in engineering science, manufacturing, and design, alongside mechanical engineering students. This course also includes an industrial placement year in your third year, giving you the chance to gain professional experience in a company of your choice. Previous students have worked on projects such as designing robotic manufacturing systems, developing sustainable energy solutions, and improving high-performance vehicle components. Throughout your placement, you will remain fully supported by the university, with regular meetings with your placement tutor. In your final year, you'll work on a major project to showcase your expertise. This course prepares you for careers in aerospace, automotive, renewable energy, and beyond. (no less than 5.5 in any element) English language requirements As well as IELTS, we also accept other English language qualifications. This includes TOEFL iBT, Pearson PTE, GCSE, IB and O level English. Check our English language policies and equivalencies for further details. If you need support to meet the required level, you may be able to attend a Presessional English for Academic Purposes (PEAP) course. Our Centre for English Language Education is accredited by the British Council for the teaching of English in the UK. If you successfully complete your pre-sessional course to the required level, you can then progress to your degree course. This means that you won't need to retake IELTS or equivalent. Please note: For pre-sessional English or one-year foundation courses, you must take IELTS for UKVI to meet visa regulations.
