Environmental and Civil Engineering is concerned with the impact of infrastructure on the natural environment. It encompasses planning, design, construction, sustainability and management of the built environment. Fields of activity include water engineering, waste management, structures, transportation and foundations. Environmental engineers require not only technical skills but also project management and communication skills. Civil Engineering was one of the founding degrees at Queen's, making it one of the oldest in the UK and Ireland. Staff are leading high-quality research and are recognised for their excellence in teaching.
A Level: AAB | Including A-level Mathematics + Biology, Chemistry, Computing, Digital Technology, Environmental Technology, Geography, ICT (not Applied ICT), Physics, Software Systems Development, Technology and Design or Double Award Life & Health Sciences. A maximum of one BTEC/OCR Single Award or AQA Extended Certificate will be accepted as part of an applicant's portfolio of qualifications with a Distinction* being equated to a grade A at A-level. A-level General Studies and Critical Thinking are normally excluded from offers. However, the grade achieved may be taken into account when results are published in August and may be used in a tie-break situation. | Scottish Advanced Higher: AAB | Including Advanced Highers in Mathematics + one from Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Computer Science or ICT. Offers are normally made on the basis of a combination of the two Advanced Highers and two Highers. | International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme: 34 UCAS points | Successful completion of IB Diploma Programme with 34 points overall including 6,6,5 at Higher Level including Mathematics + one from Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Computer Science or ICT. | Leaving Certificate - Higher Level (Ireland) (first awarded in 2017): H2H3H3H3H3H3 | H2H3 Mathematics + one from Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Computer Science/ICT + H3H3H3H3. If English is not offered at Higher Level minimum grade 04 required at Ordinary Level. Joint Physics and Chemistry Higher Level is acceptable.
The tuition fees quoted above are the 2026/27 fees and will be updated when the new fees are known.
